This Privacy Policy describes how Mail Translator collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Google Workspace Add-on. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

Information from Your Google Account:
- Email Address: Used to identify you within the Add-on, pre-fill feedback forms, and manage licensing or support requests.
- User ID: A unique Google User ID helps us distinguish users without collecting additional personally identifiable information (PII).
Information You Provide through the Add-on:
- Email Content for Translation: When you initiate translation, the content of the selected email is sent to a third-party translation service (e.g., Google Translate) for processing. The Mail Translator Add-on does not store this content after translation is complete.
- Feedback Data: If submitted, we collect your name (optional), email, rating, and comments through a Google Form. This data is securely stored in a Google Sheet under our control.
Non-Personal Data:
- Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage statistics (e.g., feature usage frequency, translation requests). This helps us improve the Add-on and does not identify you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Enable Add-on Features: Power core functions like email translation.
- Improve the Add-on: Analyze usage patterns, identify bugs, and enhance performance.
- Communicate with You: Respond to support messages, updates, or feedback—only if you’ve shared contact information.
- Legal Compliance: Fulfill any obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share your information only:
- With Third-Party Translation Services: Email content you wish to translate is sent to external translation providers (e.g., Google Translate) for processing. We do not control their data handling practices; please refer to their respective privacy policies.
- With Your Consent: Only if you explicitly allow us to.
- For Legal Compliance: If required by law or public authorities (e.g., court order).
- Aggregated or Anonymized: Non-identifiable data may be shared for analytical or service improvement.
- Google APIs Compliance: We strictly follow Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use terms.
4. Data Security
We use reasonable security safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. However, no digital transmission or storage method is 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
- Feedback Data: Retained as long as necessary for analysis and support or as required by law.
- Email Content for Translation: Not stored by the Add-on after processing is complete; it is directly sent to and processed by the third-party translation service.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Access or Delete Data: You may request access or deletion of feedback data via email.
- Manage Permissions: You can review and revoke Add-on permissions anytime in your Google Account settings. Revoking key permissions may disable Add-on features.

We may update this policy occasionally for legal or operational reasons. Any material updates will be communicated through the Add-on interface or via our homepage.
